Blogger Tribe_Sunday Lately And we’re back! After missing last week’s prompt, I’m catching up here with Week 56. Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe (lead by Angelica, Meghan, Nicole, and Katy). Every Sunday morning, the Tribe shares a small glimpse into the last week — and I’m sharing along, too. Every week, a new theme is release for all of us to post and share your link through one of the host’s post. I’m so happy that I found this amazing community of bloggers! All are welcome, so click through and join us in the Blogger Tribe Facebook group.

This week’s themes: Planning, Loving, Reading, Wishing, Feeling.

Planning: Another closet purge. I definitely fall into a “sunk cost” loop and really struggle with getting rid of things that I spent a good bit of money on (a pair of bright blue Hunters, a pair of too-big winter Sorels, two pairs (!!!) of Jeffrey Campbell platforms, and a Banana Republic wool coat, for starters). I haven’t had much luck on Poshmark aside from BUYING MORE, and then there is the annoyance (and expense) of shipping {my invite code is HPGQA if you’re interested in signing up and getting $10 for downloading the app!).

But I definitely do not feel joy by looking at these items, hanging out unworn.

Loving: I LOVE winter, so I am loving this recent snowstorm. Comfy PJ pants, good books, cats on laps, lots of hot chocolate… after running around like a crazy person outside first, of course!

Reading: Speaking of good books, I borrowed “The Girl on the Train” from my neighbor after seeing a lot of great reviews on Goodreads, and it’s been a really enjoyable and interesting read (so far). You know, since we’re snowed in here in Pittsburgh, the weekend calls for this kind of cozy.

Wishing: Too much to wish for another snowstorm? 😀

Feeling: A little stressed from big decision making. I feel like I can’t adult. Maybe I need to read “The Paradox of Choice” again.

  • Did Pittsburgh get hit as hard we did last weekend? We had about ten inches come down all at once on us…and here we are now with 60 degrees outside and all of the snow is melting. Winter has been so weird!

We did – I had about 8 inches at my house. And it was then 63 degrees yesterday! haha

I feel so much better after I purge! Good luck!

Wishing you luck on the closet clean out. It’s hard to see “wasted” clothes, but even hard to “give” them away. I want more snow too!!

  • Girl on the Train was awesome – I listened to it on Audible and I got sucked in! And I hear you about the “sunk cost” syndrome for clothes and stuff. It’s hard to part with those items. But NO MOAR SNOW!!! We just got like two feet dumped on us. That’s enough for me!

    • Mel

haha completely understand! We probably have around 8 inches here in Pittsburgh.

  • Closet cleanses are hard, especially that sunk cost bucket. I sold two pairs of Hunters on Poshmark once I realized I needed something better for my wider calves. Also hurt the first few times I sold designer purses! But I’m glad now that I did… and I’ll be buying some adjustable-back Hunter boots soon, I’d wager!

I feel like I probably need to increase the cost of the sale, considering their shipment price is not enough to cover. Was it insanely expensive to ship yours? (mine are so heavy!)

      • Nope, my Hunters shipped under their standard shipping label, which covers 5lbs I believe. If they’re in good condition, hold out for $75-80 for Hunters. You’ll get lowball offers (annoying!) but those are mostly girls who are dreaming of Hunters on Target budgets (I’ve been there!) and have their fingers crossed you’ll cave in to their offer, which is a lot for them but not what the boots are worth used.

        • Mel

Awesome, thanks for the tip! And, yeah, I know all about low-ball offers (unfortunately).

  • I think you and me are the only two people wishing for more snow! We’re so glad you’re enjoying being a part of blogger tribe. We enjoy having you!

    • Mel

Thanks so much, Meghan – I’m so glad that I found the Tribe! :)

  • I hate winter, so you are welcome to have any (or all) of my snow! The snow is nice while it is falling if you are inside with a blanket and a good book but having to deal with cleaning it up afterwards is just not worth it for me.
