Whether you’re in your 30s, approaching your 30s — or already experienced your 30s — let’s talk; consider this space our group therapy.
This 30-something’s name is Melinda, and I recently moved to Iowa with my wonderfully-supportive boyfriend and adorable three rescue cats. Born-and-raised in Cleveland, I spent the last five-and-a-half years in Pittsburgh. I’m a recent Applied Psychology grad who works in the mortgage industry, with big dreams of graduate school and performance psychology (and big nightmares of increased student debt). This blog is my outlet, as I learn to accept the changes in my life and of my body (let’s all laugh at our laugh lines together!) and affirm that sometimes hormones are THE WORST. This is our 30s.
More About Me: I’m all kinds of obsessed with my morning coffee and a hot chocolate with big marshmallows. I’m a horrible cook, and lover of cheese for dinner. I’ll put mustard on anything. I mourn the loss of craft beer due to a gluten-free lifestyle, and now regularly drink Cabernet Sauvignon. I’m fanatical about status updates but burned out on social media. I’m a somewhat-newbie runner — completing both my first half marathon and my first full marathon in 2015 — and a retired roller derby athlete. I love camping and kayaking, and I am hopelessly devoted to the outdoors (even if I’m super allergic to everything out there!). I’m real excited about this trail system in Des Moines!
I’ve been blogging since 2002, and after 10 years in the same blog place, I wanted to be challenged with new pursuits and needed a place to explore my new passions. Because blogging is my therapy.
